9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Our Savior's provides a weekly rotational Sunday School for students who are 3 years old through 6th grade. This dynamic program runs from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. each Sunday during the school year. Our lessons begin with a whole group session in the Fellowship Hall. The director teaches a lesson, a song is sung, a verse is practiced and a prayer is shared. We often have a visitor stop by too. We have had jugglers and characters such as King David (acted out by church members) stop by. After the whole group lesson, students are dismissed with their shepherds to go to one of 6 centers.
Students spend the entire year under the care of a shepherd(s). The shepherd(s) commit(s) to care for the age grouping each week and pray for the students on a weekly basis. The grade level groups visit the kitchen, art room, game room, drama center, music station and video theater once each rotation. Once at the assigned area, the shepherd introduces the lesson. The messenger takes over and teaches the lesson for the next 30 minutes. Kids are engaged in active Bible based lessons centered on a theme. The shepherd remains with the class and acts as an assistant to the messenger.
All students are welcome to join in the fun learning at anytime during the year. A Sunday School collection is taken each week to help support our partnership parish in Tanzania, Africa. Special programming is planned for the Christmas and Easter seasons.
