Let Us Hear God’s Call
As a congregation we’re called into active faith for the sake of God’s mission in the world. We trust God’s promise to care for and about us. This is nothing new, really. Generations before us, those who originally gathered as Our Savior’s Lutheran, heard the same call, responded to the same promise, and committed themselves to active participation in God’s world.
To Engage
That timeless message of God’s love for all of creation, is translated for each new generation using language and actions to speak to God’s redeeming grace. We name that as Our Savior’s Lutheran we are “Bible Based, Saved by Grace, Serving with Jesus EVERYPLACE!” In this self understanding we know that our goal cannot simply be passive spectators in our faith, but to instead continually be formed more fully by Jesus Christ into active members of God’s mission in the world.
As we strive for that active faith as individuals, we as a church hear God calling us to Engage Everyday Ministries, Engage the Congregation in active faith steps, and Engage Service opportunities for all.
PLANS FOR 2022
Ephesians 4:11-13 The gifts God gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ.
God’s Mission in and for the world has made Our Savior’s Lutheran Church a place to Engage what God has been doing in the world for more than 150 years. The goal for this Stewardship season is $425,000 for the General Fund. Please prayerfully consider how you can sustain or increase your giving to help meet this goal. Together, we will Engage Everyday Ministry, Engage the Congregation, and Engage Service, living out our mission to be Bible Based, Saved by Grace, Serving with Jesus EVERYPLACE!
ENGAGE Everyday Ministry
Money that is gathered by this congregation does so much to create the opportunities for ministry we all enjoy. From mortgage payments that provide for a holy space to house our ministries to salaries that provide staff to continue the ministry excellence through Worship, baptisms, funerals, community building and communications, your financial gifts equip this congregation to thrive in our mission of being Bible Based, Saved by Grace, and Servicing with Jesus EVERYPLACE!
Through your 2022 giving we will continue the 150+ year tradition of faithful ministry centered in Hartland, providing warmth, shelter, and leadership for a time such as this.
Examples of this continuing ministry excellence:
- Care for our property through fixed costs like mortgage, piano tuning, insurance, repairs, and utilities.
- Musical staff to lead and organize the musical ministries of the congregation.
- Pastoral staff to provide worship leadership, engaging preaching, ministry opportunities, pastoral care in the most important points in the lives of you and your families.
- Administration staff to communicate, inform, and empower the everyday ministries that keep Our Savior’s Lutheran vibrant.
To Engage Everyday Ministry, is to remember and appreciate the work that lays the groundwork for all that we collectively do to Engage God’s Mission.
ENGAGE The Congregeation
To many people Our Savior’s Lutheran is like home, not just an institution. One young person recently said, “coming here is the best part of my whole week!” People know there is a place for them here.
There’s high energy here, having fun and being serious at the same time. Sermons give hope and address what people are facing today, combining the timeless message of Jesus and Him crucified with timely methods and medias that meet us where we are.
Most people have no idea how much is going on around here. Stuff is happening for everybody. With a wide diversity of age and experience Our Savior’s is multi-generational. People are engaged with each other and with ministry.
In 2022 we will be focusing on creating growth in individuals by creating Active Steps for you to engage your own Active Faith. We are already working on plans, trusting in your faithfulness to create new and innovative Bible Studies, Creative Adult Events to help bolster community, investment in our Children’s ministry and more.
